We offer a retainage bonus of $2/hour for the first 90 days of employment. Staff may also receive a potential raise after the initial 60 days, a yearly raise in January, and merit raises throughout the year.
We require all starting staff to cross train in multiple departments, to better understand the daily routine of the building and care of our Guests.
Job purpose
Tasks include reservation management, phone etiquette, filing duties, ordering, and next-day reports. Works closely with the Guest Relations Manager Resort Manager, Assistant Manager, MOD, and other Guest Relations Staff Members to ensure the health, safety, and care of all Guests.
Duties and responsibilities
Actively participates in the daily operation and cleanliness of the GR department, lobby, and bathroom (and the resort in general during downtime in GR). Follow proper protocol concerning upholding our high standard of care for both Clients and Guests alike
Greet Clients and Guests into the lobby in a pleasant and appropriate manner
Process boarding, Daycamp, and grooming reservations via phone, email, or in-person, and distribute paperwork. Answer phones and redirect calls to appropriate colleagues
Check in and out boarding, Daycamp, and grooming Guests and handle cash drawer. Enter detailed paperwork into the computer and communicate Guest needs to staff
Provide general health checks on Guests and administer meds/first aid when needed
Work closely with clients and veterinary offices to obtain required vaccine and medical information relative to each Guest’s stay.
Maintain a professional work environment by keeping on task and working as a team with your fellow staff members
Qualifications
Previous customer service experience preferred
Excellent time management, paperwork, and multitasking skills required
Strong communication and teamwork skills required
Must possess superior customer service skills and phone etiquette
Working conditions
At least one weekend day per week, holiday hours; 6 AM shifts and working past 6 PM on occasion, working with animals with a range of behavioral and health variations; providing superior customer service to challenging Clients.
Physical requirements
This position requires standing and/or walking for extended periods, bending down and lifting animals/objects of various sizes/weights on occasion (up to 50lbs), and handling dogs and cats of all sizes, weights, and behavioral/training levels on lead. Must have the ability to properly restrain dogs and cats.
