Summary: Responsible for the accurate processing of loans, including researching background information on loan applications and supervising other processing staff
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Train, mentor and encourage other processing staff, including answering questions and showing them where to access the answers.
- Process loans files at a higher level than entry level processors, which includes less conditions and faster turn time.
- Keep loan officers, loan officer’s assistants and department manager informed of issues
- Analyzes the items as they are received to established underwriting criteria, including calculating income to make sure loan still qualifies.
- Maintain knowledge of bank loan services, policies, and procedures.
- Make sure loans are submitted to underwriting in a timely manner and files are complete prior to submission.
- Clear underwriting conditions and get loan ready for closing
- Help with investor conditions to facilitate loans being purchased
- Meet with processing staff as needed to discuss issues or problems that need addressed.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three to five years related experience and/or training.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret credit and financial information, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, clients, customers, and the general public, including written and oral correspondence.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
