The Baking Institute Bakery Co. is a growing wholesale bakery serving hotels, country clubs, restaurants, universities, and specialty retailers throughout the Chicago area. We are looking for an experienced, dependable baker to join our production team.
This is a full-time, hands-on position working alongside an experienced team producing a wide variety of high-quality baked goods.
Position Overview
As a Baker / Bakery Production Associate, you will assist in preparing and producing many of our bakery products, including:
- Cakes and cake components
- Breakfast pastries
- Danish and croissants
- Cookies
- Bars and brownies
- Muffins and quick breads
- Cheesecakes
- Seasonal and specialty desserts
This is a production-focused position where you'll work in multiple areas of the bakery. In addition to baking, you'll help finish, package, label, and prepare products that you or the production team have baked, ensuring every order is accurate and ready for delivery. Every day is different, and teamwork is an essential part of the role.
Qualifications
- Previous commercial bakery experience preferred
- Experience scaling recipes and following production schedules
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as with a team
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Food safety and sanitation knowledge is a plus
- Experience handing bakery equipment is a plus
Schedule
- Full-time (38 hours per week)
- Sundays and Mondays off
- Overtime available during busy seasons
