Duties
- Prepare and bake a variety of baked goods, including bread, cakes, pastries, and cookies, following established recipes and standards
- Decorate cakes and pastries with icing, fondant, or other creative techniques to enhance visual appeal
- Package baked items efficiently for display or customer orders while maintaining food safety standards
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as mixing, portioning, and assembling pastry components
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery station, ensuring all equipment is sanitized and properly stored
- Handle food safely by adhering to hygiene protocols and proper food handling procedures
- Support the team during catering events or special orders by assisting with setup and presentation
Experience
- Previous experience in baking or pastry preparation within a bakery, restaurant, or catering environment is preferred
- Demonstrated skills in cake decorating and food presentation techniques
- Familiarity with food industry safety standards and proper food handling practices
- Hands-on experience with kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, knives, and pastry tools
- Knowledge of food production processes including baking, cooking, and food preparation
- Customer service experience is a plus to ensure positive interactions with clients and team members
- Culinary experience that includes working in fast-paced kitchens or restaurants will be highly valued
