About the Role
The Bagel Mill is seeking an experienced, dependable baker to join our team for weekend production. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship, values consistency, and enjoys working independently in a focused, early-morning environment.
Schedule:
Saturday & Sunday, 5:00am–1:30pm
You’ll work with naturally leavened bagel dough, freshly milled flour, and a variety of scratch-made products. This is a hands-on role for someone who is detail-oriented, efficient, and genuinely passionate about baking.
What You’ll Do
- Mix, shape, and proof sourdough bagel dough with a high level of consistency and care
- Prepare brioche, challah, and other doughs
- Produce cookies, granolas, pastries, and seasonal specials
- Prepare sauces, spreads (including vegan options), and other kitchen components
- Mill flour and assist with daily production prep
- Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe workspace
- Work efficiently while upholding quality standards
- Support a collaborative, team-oriented kitchen environment
What We’re Looking For
- At least 1 year of professional baking or kitchen experience (bread or production baking preferred)
- Strong work ethic with a high level of reliability and punctuality—especially for early morning shifts
- Ability to work independently and stay focused during solo production time
- Attention to detail and pride in producing consistent, high-quality products
- Calm, efficient approach in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and remain on your feet for extended periods
- Current Food Handler’s Card (or willingness to obtain one promptly)
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive hourly pay (DOE) pooled tips
