Description: A dedicated and supportive family in Rural Hall, North Carolina is seeking a part-time caregiver for their teenage son. He is a verbal teen with Autism, ADHD, anxiety, and cognitive delays who thrives with structure, consistency, and calm, regulated support. He is active, enjoys being out in the community, and does best with one-on-one engagement. This role is ideal for someone who understands that behavior is communication—and doesn’t take it personally. He can become dysregulated when he feels unsafe or overwhelmed. His threat response can be heightened, especially with unfamiliar caregivers or unexpected physical interactions. For example, reaching for items, rushing him, or attempting to physically guide him can be perceived as threatening and may lead to escalation. The right caregiver will understand how to prevent escalation before it starts, remain calm under pressure, and avoid reactive or confrontational responses.
