Surveyor
The Axel Group is seeking a Surveyor local to the New Hope, PA area. This role involves conducting a variety of field surveys including boundary, topographic, construction stakeout, and as-built surveys for a civil engineering firm.
Surveyor Responsibilities:
- Perform boundary, topographic, construction stakeout, and as-built field surveys.
- Operate and maintain total stations, GPS/GNSS receivers, data collectors, and levels.
- Review project plans, deeds, plats, and prior survey data to prepare for fieldwork.
- Process and analyze survey data using CAD software to produce maps, plats, and documentation.
- Prepare survey deliverables including boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS surveys, topographic maps, and construction layouts.
- Verify control points, perform field calculations, and maintain detailed documentation.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to support project timelines.
- Provide guidance and training to Surveyor I staff and field technicians.
- Communicate with clients, contractors, and property owners during field operations.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, company procedures, and QC policies.
Surveyor Requirements:
- Associate's or Bachelor's in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. Progress toward SIT/FS licensure preferred.
- Proficiency with total stations, GPS/GNSS systems, data collectors, and digital levels.
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar survey/CAD software.
- Ability to interpret engineering plans, deeds, plats, and legal descriptions.
- Knowledge of coordinate systems, datums, geodesy, and ALTA/NSPS standards.
- Strong math skills including geometry and trigonometry.
Compensation: $75,000 - $105,000, commensurate with experience | Discretionary bonus eligible
This role offers a flexible schedule with a mix of fieldwork across eastern to central PA and remote/office time — split varies based on project needs
