The Norblad Hotel & Astor Suites is looking for a dependable, hardworking Housekeeper/Laundry Attendant to join our team. Our housekeeping staff plays one of the most important roles in creating an exceptional guest experience. We take pride in providing clean, comfortable, and welcoming accommodations, and we're looking for someone who shares that commitment.
This position is responsible for cleaning guest rooms, maintaining public areas, processing laundry, and helping ensure the hotel meets our high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
Responsibilities
- Clean guest rooms thoroughly, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, sanitizing bathrooms, and replenishing amenities.
- Inspect rooms to ensure they meet hotel quality standards before guest arrival.
- Wash, dry, fold, organize, and stock linens, towels, and other laundry items.
- Maintain clean and organized housekeeping closets, laundry areas, and storage spaces.
- Clean and maintain public areas, including hallways, stairwells, lobby areas, and shared restrooms.
- Safely operate housekeeping equipment such as vacuums and laundry machines.
- Properly use and store cleaning chemicals according to Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and hotel safety procedures.
- Report maintenance issues, damaged items, or safety hazards promptly.
- Follow all hotel safety, sanitation, and emergency procedures.
- Assist with moving supplies, linens, and furniture as needed.
- Work efficiently both independently and as part of a team to ensure rooms are ready on time.
Qualifications
- Previous housekeeping or hospitality experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, push, and pull throughout an entire shift.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working with cleaning products while following proper safety procedures.
- Positive attitude with a commitment to providing excellent service to guests and supporting fellow team members.
