Role Description
The Event Planning Intern will support the planning, coordination, and execution of experiential events and activations produced by The Assembly DC. This role is hands-on and collaborative, offering real exposure to how live experiences are developed from concept to execution.
Interns will assist with event logistics, project coordination, and on-site production support, helping ensure each experience runs smoothly and delivers a strong guest experience. Day-to-day responsibilities may include supporting timelines and run-of-show documents, coordinating with vendors and partners, assisting with setup and breakdown, and providing general production support as needed.
This is a remote position, with in-person event support required across Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia. Interns will work closely with the founders and production team, gaining firsthand experience in event planning, creative execution, and live production operations.
This role is ideal for students or early-career creatives who want to understand how events actually come together, and are eager to learn in a fast-paced, real-world environment
Qualifications
- Must live in Washington, DC, Maryland, or Virginia
- Must be available to attend in-person events (some evenings/weekends required)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, real-time environments
- Interested in event planning, experiential marketing, production, or partnerships
- Reliable, proactive, and willing to jump in where needed
- Comfortable with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive)
- Excellent Communication skills for effective collaboration with clients, team members, and vendors
- Proficiency in Project Management and Planning to manage timelines, resources, and budgets efficiently
- Enthusiasm for creativity and crafting memorable experiential marketing activations
- A background or coursework in event management, marketing, hospitality, or a related field is a plus
