What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable Specialist position at The Ascot Corporatin, llc?
The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for timely payments to trades and vendors. They will ensure accurate invoice entry into the accounting system. They will report directly to the Controller.
Duties will include, but not be limited to:
- Enter all invoices accurately into the accounting system.
- Maintain vendor accounts and ensure up-to-date Certificate of insurance and W-9s.
- Report to, and assist, CFO in special assignments as required.
- Maintain and manage all hard copy accounting files, electronic records, and stage files annually.
- Issue vendor Form 1099s at end of calendar year.
- Understand the company chart of accounts and how to apply costs to various accounts and various jobs using cost codes.
- Prepare various reports for the Controller monthly.
Requirements:
- Associate Degree in Accounting preferred.
- Proven work experience in accounting or a related field.
- Understanding of financial data analysis and reporting.
- Knowledge of accounts payable functions.
- Ability to deliver quality work on tight deadlines, with strong organization and priority setting skills.
- Proven experience in job cost accounting.
- Must be able to communicate financial information into sound business language so people of all levels can understand.
