Pay Rate/Range: $20-28/hr.
Description: The Saw Operator is responsible for safely operating saw equipment to cut and process materials according to customer specifications and required deadlines. Duties include pulling, staging, measuring, and retrieving materials using a forklift, as well as accurately entering specifications into the computer system. The position requires the safe operation of cranes, forklifts, and rigging equipment and the use of precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and tape measures. The Saw Operator will also assist with packaging, shipping and receiving, inventory counts, and maintaining a clean and organized work area while following all company safety, quality, and workplace policies.
Job Requirements: Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, along with at least two years of related saw or machinery experience and preferably one year of experience in the metals service center industry. Candidates should have basic Microsoft Office skills, strong communication and organizational abilities, good problem-solving and time-management skills, and the ability to accurately measure, read, and calculate numbers and data. The ideal candidate can work independently, follow direction, maintain positive relationships with coworkers, customers, and suppliers, and demonstrate a strong work ethic, initiative, and integrity.
