A Day in the Life of a Quality Assurance and Staff Development Coordinator:
As the Quality Assurance and Staff Development Coordinator at The Arc Wayne in Newark, NY, you will be responsible for supporting Agency quality assurance and coordinating staff education. Your role will involve ensuring compliance with OPWDD regulations, as well as other necessary regulations and agency policies. You will also maintain the confidentiality of all records and serve as a valuable resource for the agency in the areas of education and training.
- Evaluates current training curriculums and/or develops new training curriculum as needed, per regulatory requirements
- Conducts administrative investigations of all Reportable Incidents, Notable Occurrences (Part 624) and Events and Situations (Part 625) according to OPWDD Investigative Guidelines and NYS regulations or SED, DOH, OMH regulations, NYS Justice Center, HIPAA or the Arc Wayne Corporate Compliance Program as assigned.
- Coordinates all new-hire orientation and annual refresher training, as required
- Serves as an agency instructor for all courses and maintains certification as required
- Completes assigned internal audits on time and make appropriate recommendations for program for improvement.
- Develops and maintains training schedules and records
- Coordinates external training as needed.
- Provides trending reports to program management and Human Resources including, but not limited to attendance, training history and issues of non-compliance
Who We Are Looking For:
You possess excellent interpersonal, verbal, written communication and analytical skills. You have strong organizational skills and strong computer skills that include Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
You have a Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services Field or a related field and at least two years' experience working in the human service field or a related field. Other combinations of equivalent or greater education and experience may be considered. You also have a valid New York State driver's license that meets Agency Driver standards.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8 am to 4 pm (full time, 40 hours per week) with flexibility to meet program needs.
