Position Summary:
The Arc is seeking a part-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide a wide variety of person centered supports and services with a strong emphasis on personal choice to the individuals they support. The LPN serves as an advocate and promote self-advocacy. He or she provides personal supports and services based on individual needs.
Location: Residential Home Setting
Schedule: Weekends (Part-Time)
Key Responsibilities:
As an LPN, you’ll ensure the health and well-being of individuals in a residential setting while providing clinical leadership to staff during your shift. You’ll deliver direct care, support community engagement, and help individuals build independence, relationships, and a fulfilling life.

Clinical Care:
Administer medications, treatments, and nursing care as outlined in care plans. Communicate updates clearly with staff and medical professionals. -
Direct Support:
Assist with personal care, hygiene, mobility, and household tasks. Promote independence in health management and daily living. -
Community Engagement:
Support participation in social, recreational, and wellness activities. Encourage family involvement and meaningful relationships. -
Communication & Documentation:
Maintain accurate, timely records using iCare system. Follow behavior and person-centered support plans consistently. -
Professionalism:
Model respectful, confidential, and collaborative behavior in all interactions.

Requirements:

Active LPN license
-
Ability to lift/support individuals with assistance

Willingness to work in multiple residential settings as needed

Completion of all required DDA and agency trainings
You are the Ideal Candidate If you have:
-
A valid LPN license for the state of Maryland. (Required)

Must have at least 1 year of related experience working with individuals in a care-giving setting. (Required)

A good driving record, reliable vehicle, and current Maryland Driver’s license is a must. (Required)

The candidate must be able to successfully complete training requirements of The Arc.

Strong communication skills and demonstrated care-giving skills such as personal care provision and repositioning skills is required.

Must be able to lift a person with assistance (two-person lift).
