The Arc of Centre County is hiring Part-Time Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and autism in their homes. Located in State College, PA.
No two days look exactly the same. You might help someone make breakfast, drive them to work, administer medications, or simply spend time doing something they enjoy. Job Title: Direct Support Professional (DSP)
Pay: $17/hour Shift Differentials $600 Sign-on Bonus
Location: State College, PA (we also have PT openings in Bellefonte!)
Schedule: Part-Time, Mornings and/or Weekends Preferred!
No Experience Needed (paid training)
Schedule & Pay
- Starting pay: $17/hour $600 sign-on/stay-on bonus
- $1/hour differentials for late nights, weekends, and holidays (differentials can stack!)
- Opportunities for extra shifts & overtime (time-and-a-half)
Benefits
- 26 hours of paid training per year
- 6 premium holidays annually (time-and-a-half pay)
- Mileage reimbursed at $0.725/mile if using personal vehicle to transport individuals

Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license (agency vehicles provided for community outings)
- TB test and physical
- Able to lift 50 pounds & assist with physical supports such as lifting, bending, standing, etc.
Preferred, but Not Required:
- Experience working with intellectual and developmental disabilities and autism (IDD/A)
- Experience in direct care, caregiving, behavioral health, or healthcare
What You'll Do
- Provide direct support to adults with IDD/A in residential homes
- Assist with activities of daily living including cooking, hygiene, and routines
- Drive individuals to work, appointments, community activities, stores, restaurants, and other destinations (agency vehicles are available!)
- Assist with or administer medications
- Build meaningful relationships while making a difference every day

- Professional Training: We invest in our DSPs by supporting NADSP credentialing that recognize the important work they do every day. Credentialed DSPs earn an extra $1/hour per credentialed level, up to $3!
