The ABI Support Professional assists supported individuals to accomplish activities of daily living including but not limited to eating, toileting, dressing, bathing, transferring and ambulation.ABI Support Professionals report directly to and receive weekly and/or as needed support and supervision from the ABI Home Manager.Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma requiredAt least 18 years of ageMAP certification preferredFirst Aid/CPR certification preferredCompletion of TB screening and testingCompletion of Physical including transportation/transfer addendumSafe driving record, current driver’s license, personal vehicle, and current motor vehicle liability insurance required, ability to successfully pass criminal background checksJob ResponsibilitiesThe position includes the following responsibilities. Responsibilities are based upon the needs of the individual supported and may vary depending on their unique needs and goalsCommunicates effectively with the individual to whom they provide services including his or her familyProvides assistance with activities of daily living including personal care and nutritionSupports individuals in increasing and/or maintaining their everyday independence within their homes and communities by assisting with light household duties including cooking, laundry and shoppingProvides transportation as neededMaintains open communication and works with all team membersCompletes needed documentation that may include weekly time sheet, daily progress notes, incident reports, medical and dental forms, etc., in a timely mannerProvides reliable and appropriate service to individuals and familiesMaintains necessary certifications (CPR, First Aid, Services/Supports, etc.) and completes all required training in a timely manner in accordance with training requirementsParticipates in routine established for support and supervision with direct supervisorProvides supports/services as directed by families who have established supports for their family memberAny other job-related duties as assigned.Company OverviewThe Arc of Bristol County dba ProAbility, is a dedicated non-profit organization committed to supporting individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
