The Business Operations Manager – Budgets, Contracts & Procurement is a high‑visibility strategic role that sits at the center of financial stewardship and operational excellence. This leader will shape how the organization designs, manages, and optimizes its budgets across multiple business lines—partnering closely with front-line managers to analyze current spend, build thoughtful and scalable budget frameworks, and drive disciplined budget adherence.
Beyond budget leadership, this role will own the evaluation and optimization of third‑party contracts and guide procurement strategy to ensure the organization is making smart, cost‑effective decisions that support long‑term growth. It’s an exceptional opportunity for a business operations professional with consulting‑level analytical skills—someone who thrives on turning complex information into clear insights, building systems that scale, and influencing decisions that strengthen the organization’s financial and operational foundation.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Organizational Planning
- Heavy Business Operations leadership experience
- Lead multi-month planning efforts and translate qualitative and quantitative insights into clear 3- to 5-year strategic plans
- Synthesize financial, programmatic, and stakeholder data into concise insights for executive decision-making
- Conduct qualitative analysis of focus groups, interviews, and board discussions to identify organizational priorities
Financial & Scenario Modeling
- Build budgets & manage them
- Articulate what a business will do through a budget
- Build multi-year financial and scenario-planning models to evaluate growth trajectories, program feasibility, and funding needs
- Present findings and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and boards
Contracts Management & Procurement
- Oversee contract drafting, negotiation, compliance, and renewals
- Strengthen procurement processes to improve efficiency, transparency, and alignment with organizational goals
- Advise leadership on operational improvements, resource allocation, and staffing structures
- One-time and ongoing business operations procurement
- Additional operational contracts as needed
Qualifications
- Experience contributing to or leading strategic planning initiatives, preferably within organizations with annual budgets of $10M–$70M
- Strong financial modeling and scenario-planning expertise
- Proven ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights
- Background in contracts management, procurement, or business operations
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
