SUMMARY:
The Arc Jacksonville is looking for a Program Coordinator for the Career Campus. The Career Campus is a 2-4 year program designed to provide participants with intellectual and developmental differences the opportunity to build new skills for job placement success. The program is housed at The Arc Jacksonville’s downtown location and will be a partnership with Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ). The ideal candidate will be an educator, self-starter, and passionate about The Arc Jacksonville. They will also help our leadership convey our mission. The Arc Jacksonville serves and advocates for individuals with intellectual and developmental differences to achieve their full potential and to participate in community life.
RESPONSBILTIES:
- Provides support in the classroom setting for the Director of the Career Campus, working with students during the classroom lessons, activities, and any other initiative lead by the director.
- Assist the director with any necessary paperwork related to the admissions process for the Career Campus students.
- Provides support to the director in developing lessons plans, sharing their ideas, and thoughts based on the students in the program.
- Assist the director with developing and implementing new student orientation.
- Plan and implement open houses for Career Campus.
- Plan and assist with community field trips and other duties as assigned.
- Collaborates with members of the project team (to include the Director, Chief Programs Officer, President/CEO, and staff from FSCJ to communicate the processes of the program, facilitate participation, prepare materials for meetings, and document assigned tasks.
- Track and monitor student progress and progression.
- Develop a schedule to identify milestones and deliverables. Track and report on updates, deliverables, and outcomes to all key stakeholders.
- Schedules, attends, and participates in meetings, distributes agenda and action items. Serves on designated committees and councils as necessary.
- Work with The Arc Jacksonville’s Employment Services and Advocacy Departments as needed in order to provide the best services for the Career Campus students.
- Coordinate and assist with the summer Career Campus in partnership with the High School High Tech program.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited educational institution, with three years’ experience in a classroom setting. Preference will be given to applicants who have experience relating to individuals with intellectual and developmental differences or exceptional student education.
- Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills, positive interpersonal skills, effective goal setting and implementation, creative and effective problem-solving skills. Effective collaboration and teamwork.
- Ability to perform all responsibilities independently, without direct supervision.
- Must have a valid Florida driver license and a good driving record. Must be willing and able to drive agency vehicles.
SALARY: $35,000-$45,000
