Maintenance Technician A

Hourly Rate: $20- $24 per hour.

Amlon Sweetwater is seeking a dependable Maintenance Technician to help keep our equipment, buildings, and work areas safe and in good working order. The successful candidate will perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs, and will respond to maintenance needs as they arise.

Responsibilities:

- Inspect, maintain, and repair equipment, machinery, tools, and facilities.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and document completed work.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other maintenance issues.
- Respond to service requests and prioritize work based on urgency and safety.
- Keep tools, work areas, and maintenance records organized.
- Follow workplace safety procedures and report hazards or equipment concerns.
- Coordinate with team members, supervisors, and outside contractors as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Experience and Skill Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous Maintenance or repair experience is a must.
• General knowledge of tools, equipment, and safe work practices.
• Reliable attendance, communication, and willingness to learn.Welding experience is highly prefered.
• Electrical knowledge is a plus.
• Attention to detail to ensure that all jobs are completed in an exemplary manner and any potential hazards or warning signs of problems are not overlooked.
• Understand basic electrical wiring and diagrams to include troubleshooting and basic repair of electrical problems.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to wear personal protective gear most of the day.
• Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move 50 pounds occasionally.
• Must be able to work in cold/hot environments and on concrete floors.
• Balancing: Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces.
• Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position.
• The worker is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment.

Working Conditions:

• The worker is required to function in narrow aisles or passageways.
• The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions: One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system: Fumes, odors, dust, mist, gases, or poor ventilation.
• The worker is subject to fluids: There is air and/or skin exposure to oils and other fluids
• The worker is subject to both environmental conditions: Activities occur inside and outside.
