GENERAL SUMMARY:
Overall responsibility for the success of the multi-channel retail division of The American Legion. Lead and manage merchandising, marketing, special orders, distribution center and fulfillment operations. Also oversee print and mail fulfillment operations of The American Legion.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Overall responsibility for providing vision and direction for the staff of the retail division; including brick and mortar store, special orders, purchasing, marketing, warehouse (shipping/receiving/order fulfillment), as well as website management of the Legion’s Emblem Sales Distribution Center.
- Oversee the Print Production Division to ensure all internal and external mailings are produced, printed, collated, and mailed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Responsible for strategic planning and execution of the strategic plan.
- Support the corporate goals of The American Legion.
- Manage division resources to ensure the most efficient and effective use of personnel, facilities, and capital.
- Approve the annual marketing plan and establish annual division goals; ensure accountability and successful achievement of those goals.
- Review and analyze key operational and performance reports; implement process improvements and operational changes as needed to meet organizational objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Responsible for the budget of each of the respective areas.
- Acts as an official representative of The American Legion at Department Conventions, Conferences, and the National Convention.
- Proactively identify operational, financial, and organizational challenges; develop and implement timely and effective solutions.
- Other duties as assigned.
REPORTING directly to the Senior Director of Operations
Education/Technical Knowledge:
College education – four-year degree to provide basic familiarity with a variety of subjects.
Additional Skills Needed:
- Knowledge of management and supervisor practices and techniques.
- Previous e-commerce, retail, purchasing, catalog experience, or operations management is required.
- Knowledge of accounting and budgetary theory, principles, and practices preferred.
- Must be a decision maker with initiative, willing to accept responsibilities.
- Must have problem solving skills.
- Sales and general business knowledge required.
- Microsoft product knowledge including Window, Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access.
- Knowledge of mail-order management computer software preferred.
- Knowledge of shipping industry and shipping technology preferred.
- Veteran preferred.
Experience:
5 years up to 8 years
Supervision of Others:
The position is responsible for supervising multiple work units, with full responsibility for effective operation and results of those units. Supervises one or more-unit supervisors or managers.

Salary : $110,000 - $120,000
