ServiceNow Systems Architect

Location: MacDill AFB in Tampa, FL

Clearance: Secret; ability to obtain TS/SCI

Job Type: Full-Time. Hybrid – 3 days onsite, 2 days remote.

Target Salary Range*: $190,000 - $225,000

Position Overview

As a ServiceNow Systems Architect, you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. This role supports the USCENTCOM Information Technology Services Program and USCENTCOM J6 in Tampa, FL.

The ServiceNow Systems Architect will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of the ServiceNow platform. This role requires a strategic thinker who can align the platform with business objectives while ensuring system stability, security, and performance.

The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record of delivering scalable and upgrade-safe solutions.

Key ResponsibilitiesServiceNow Platform Architecture and Design

• Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of the ServiceNow platform.
• Develop and maintain the overall architecture of the ServiceNow platform, ensuring alignment with business needs and industry best practices.
• Align the platform with business objectives while ensuring system stability, security, and performance.
• Deliver scalable and upgrade-safe solutions.
  
  

System Maintenance and Platform Optimization

• Oversee system maintenance, upgrades, and enhancements.
• Ensure minimal disruption and optimal performance during system maintenance, upgrades, and enhancements.
  
  

Workflow and Development Support

• Design and implement workflows, business rules, client scripts, and UI policies to automate processes and improve efficiency.
• Use JavaScript, Glide API, and ServiceNow development tools.
  
  

Integrations

• Lead the design and implementation of integrations with external systems.
• Support integrations using REST, SOAP, LDAP, SSO, and other protocols.
  
  

ITOM and ITAM Implementation

• Configure and support ITOM and ITAM modules.
• Support discovery, service mapping, asset management, and event management.
  
  

SPM/PPM Support

• Configure and maintain Strategic Portfolio Management modules.
• Support Demand, Project, Portfolio, and Resource Management.
• Support Strategic Portfolio Management with a focus on Agile methodologies.
  
  

Documentation and Governance

• Create and maintain technical documentation.
• Create and maintain architecture diagrams.
• Create and maintain governance standards for the platform.
  
  

QualificationsEducation

• Bachelor’s degree with focus in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Master’s degree preferred.
  
  

Experience

• 6 years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow, including 3 years in an architect or lead role.
• Extensive experience with ServiceNow ITOM, ITAM, and SPM implementation.
  
  

Skills

• Strong understanding of system security, ACLs, and certificate management.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, Glide API, and ServiceNow development tools.
  
  

Clearance

• Active Secret DoD clearance, with willingness and ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Database management, including managing MariaDB installation, optimization, indexing, and coding to support platform performance.
• Security and compliance, including configuring and maintaining system ACLs, certificates, and security protocols to ensure compliance with organizational policies.
• Monitoring and risk management, including monitoring system stability, conducting risk assessments, and implementing measures to prevent service degradation or interruptions.
• Reporting and analytics, including developing dashboards, KPIs, and reports to provide visibility into portfolio performance, risks, and opportunities.
