The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Electrical Engineer to plan and execute energy projects in support of Air Force Sustainment Center's (AFSC's) Strategic Plan to develop mission assurance enablers by improving network capabilities, modernizing operational and industrial infrastructure, and implementing energy-resiliency measures at WR-ALC. Performs planning and design work for multi-phase projects for a variety of non-real property facilities, equipment, and systems, utilizing a professional knowledge of electrical engineering. Serves as an electrical engineering consultant on all design aspects of assigned projects. Provides professional consultation on a wide range of difficult electrical engineering issues and problems. Determines adequacy of design criteria including electrical power provided, lighting, and electrical distribution. Performs analysis and uses systematic, disciplined and quantifiable approaches to implement, develop, and document projects. complies with health, safety, and environmental rules and procedures and performs work in a manner that enhances the safety of the work environment. Ensures federal, state, and local codes concerning health, safety, and the environment are strictly adhered to in the programming, design, and/or construction of industrial process systems, facilities, and in the daily performance of the job.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA):

1. Professional knowledge of electrical engineering concepts, principles, practices, and extensive familiarity with other engineering disciplines and architecture; and knowledge of a broad range of engineering and construction standards, methods, practices, and techniques, materials, and equipment to ensure work is in compliance with regulations and standards.

2. Knowledge of standard contracting regulations, practices, and procedures; and work classifications and the regulatory and statutory restrictions on the expenditures of appropriated and non-appropriated funds.

3. Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental requirements as outlined in applicable standards, regulations, and/or technical orders; program planning and budgeting cycles, financial control, budget systems, and management; environmental principles, practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and current legislative issues.

4. Knowledge of automated data processing concepts, systems capabilities, and economic usage to effective accomplish assigned functions. Knowledge of budgeting, procurement, standard configuration and finding regulations, practices and processes related to system acquisition and sustainment management functions.

5. Ability to plan, conduct, and record site/facility surveys and inspections.

6. Ability to research, analyze, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, and procedures to a variety of situations and to recommend timely, and economical solutions; plan and organize work and coordinate with other engineering disciplines and architects; communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; and maintain good working relations.
