Lead Electronics Engineer (Range Systems & Threat Simulation)

We are seeking a premier technical authority in electronics engineering to lead the development and sustainment of advanced threat simulators and combat training systems. If you are an expert engineer ready to take ownership of mission-critical projects that directly enhance U.S. Air Force pilot training and combat readiness, this is your chance to lead the charge.

As our Lead Electronics Engineer, you will be the technical linchpin of our Range Systems Sustainment Flight. You will go beyond standard engineering-you will serve as the organizational technical expert, guiding the design, development, and operational execution of complex systems. Your leadership and technical acumen will directly ensure the fidelity and effectiveness of the training environments that prepare our warfighters for real-world combat scenarios.

What You Will Accomplish:

- Command Technical Leadership: Serve as the undisputed technical expert and project manager, providing strategic guidance and oversight across multiple phases of the engineering development lifecycle.

- Sustain Advanced Threat Simulators: Direct the hardware and software engineering support for a myriad of sophisticated threat simulators across USAF training ranges, including MUTES (Multiple Threat Emitter System) and mini-MUTES.

- Enhance Pilot Combat Readiness: Drive the sustainment of the Air Combat Training System, specifically supporting the Common Data Debrief Tool-a critical asset that enables pilots to review and maximize their training mission effectiveness.

- Mentor and Guide: Lead and evaluate the design and development activities of cross-functional engineering teams, ensuring the highest standards of project success and operational integrity.

We Are Looking For a seasoned electronics engineer with a strong foundation in hardware/software integration, proven project management capabilities, and the leadership skills to drive complex programs to completion. If you are passionate about defense technology and want to make a tangible impact on Air Force mission effectiveness, we want you on our team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- U.S. Citizenship

- May occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft

- Work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver's license may be required for the position.

- Obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance

- Designated as a Non-Critical Acquisition Position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP)

- Designated drug testing position

Recruitment Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

1. Professional knowledge of electronics engineering concepts, principles, methods, techniques, and standard practices to perform a wide range of assignments involving many different and unrelated engineering processes and methods associated with installation, operations, and maintenance projects.

2. Knowledge of electronics engineering sufficient to adapt precedents or existing strategies to meet unusual needs, special demands, and determine feasible solutions to meet project requirements related to computer software/hardware, weapon and weapon subsystems, embedded systems, and/or automatic test equipment.

3. Knowledge of analysis, evaluation, fact-finding, and investigative techniques in order to gather data, identify significant factors, and recommend a solution from a number of possible alternatives.

4. Ability to plan and organize work and coordinate with other engineering and computer science disciplines.
