Overview
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Tax Preparation Specialist to join their in-person accounting team. This role is ideal for a tax professional who enjoys preparing a wide range of returns, supporting clients directly, and contributing to a collaborative, quality-focused environment.
You’ll work across individual, business, and estate tax filings while supporting bookkeeping, payroll, and research needs throughout the firm.
This position offers stability, hands-on client exposure, and the opportunity to continue developing your tax skill set within a professional, supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and complete federal and state tax returns for individuals, businesses, and estates, including Forms 1040, 1041, 1065, 1120S, and 1120
- Assist clients with bookkeeping questions and support using QuickBooks
- Support quarterly and annual payroll filings as needed
- Communicate professionally with clients to gather documentation, answer questions, and ensure timely, accurate filings
- Assist team members with tax research and reporting tasks
- Maintain accuracy, organization, and confidentiality across all client records and filings
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of tax return preparation experience
- Experience preparing individual and business returns required
- Familiarity with UltraTax is a plus
- Experience working with QuickBooks
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Accounting degree preferred but not required
- CPA candidate, CPA, or EA credential is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Self-motivated, dependable, and comfortable working independently
- Open to feedback and committed to continuous learning and process improvement
- Professional demeanor with a strong commitment to client confidentiality
Compensation & Benefits
- $65,000 - $85,000
