What are the responsibilities and job description for the VOIP Communications and Data Systems Specialist position at The Affiliated Sante Group?
VOIP Communications and Data Systems Specialist Timonium, MD | Hybrid (3 days onsite) | Full-Time | $65,000–$70,000
Who We Are
At Affiliated Santé Group, we don't just talk about making a difference — we show up every single day to prove it. As a leading provider of community-based behavioral and mental health services across Maryland and North Carolina, our team is on the frontlines of crisis response, recovery, and care.
The systems that power our work matter. When our call centers go down, lives are on the line. That's why we need someone who takes telecommunications seriously — and shows up like it.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a VoIP Communications and Data Systems Specialist to join our Technology team at our Timonium, MD headquarters. This is a hybrid role — 3 days onsite, with the flexibility you need to do your best work.
You'll be the go-to person for our telecommunications infrastructure, keeping our systems running, our staff trained, and our call centers connected. If you love being the person who figures things out, builds the training, and makes technology actually work for people — this role is for you.
What You'll Own
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all telecommunications systems across our call centers
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot VoIP and data telecommunications systems — platforms may include Avaya, Cisco, Microsoft Teams VoIP, or PBX
- Build and lead training programs — in-person and virtual — so every staff member can use systems with confidence
- Keep all telecommunications training materials updated, organized, and accessible
- Research emerging telecom technology and help leadership evaluate new features and modules
- Coordinate new project rollouts from strategy through implementation
- Troubleshoot and escalate telecommunications concerns quickly — we move fast and so should you
- Support our Baltimore County location onsite when needed
- Work across systems including Credible, Electronic Crisis Case Record, Behavioral Health Link, and other EHRs
What You Bring
- 3 years of hands-on experience in telecommunications or telephony — this is a telecom-first role, not a general IT position
- VoIP experience strongly preferred
- Call center or contact center environment experience
- Project management experience — you can take something from idea to execution
- Ability to respond onsite to the Baltimore area within 20–30 minutes when urgency calls
- Clear communicator who can train non-technical staff without making them feel lost
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field
What You'll Get
- Salary: $65,000–$70,000
- Hybrid schedule: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance
- 403(b) with company match
- Generous PTO, sick leave, and your birthday off every year
- Calm App, wellness initiatives, and Employee Assistance Program
- Pet insurance, FSA, critical illness and accident coverage
- Recognition through Awardco and exclusive discounts through FunEx
