Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of senior and principal engineers responsible for data platform services and infrastructure.
• Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and feedback-driven engineering culture that promotes innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement.
• Drive improvements in engineering processes, delivery practices, and operational excellence to ensure high-quality, reliable systems.
• Partner closely with engineering leaders, data scientists, product teams, and analytics stakeholders to define and execute the team’s roadmap.
• Translate long-term strategic initiatives into actionable technical plans, delivering value through well-scoped, iterative milestones.
• Ensure high standards for system architecture, scalability, code quality, and platform reliability.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance, reviewing architecture proposals, design documentation, and system implementations.
• Participate in technical discussions related to distributed systems, platform scalability, and performance optimization.
• Support incident response and operational readiness for critical systems when necessary.
• Drive the evolution of the organization’s data platform capabilities, enabling teams across the business to effectively access and analyze data.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 5–7 years of engineering management experience, leading high-performing teams in data platform, infrastructure, or distributed systems environments.
• Proven experience designing and operating large-scale distributed data systems in cloud environments.
• Strong technical leadership skills with the ability to review architecture, design documents, and code implementations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical systems, ambiguous requirements, and high-pressure production environments.
• Experience guiding teams responsible for data ingestion pipelines, storage systems, and data access platforms.
• Hands-on experience with distributed event streaming platforms such as Apache Kafka.
• Familiarity with OLAP data stores such as Apache Pinot or ClickHouse.
• Experience with modern data lake and warehouse technologies including Amazon S3, Databricks, or Snowflake.
• Strong background in the .NET ecosystem, container orchestration with Kubernetes, and cloud platforms—particularly AWS.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with distributed data processing frameworks such as Apache Flink or Apache Spark.
• Background in building observability, telemetry, and data access platforms.
• Experience supporting high-scale systems processing massive volumes of real-time data.
