What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager on Duty position at The Adirondack Club?
Schedule: Friday 4PM – 8PM, Saturdays (up to an 8 hour shift) plus additional shifts per week determined by the Member Services Director and schedule needs.
Overview:
We are seeking a reliable, energetic, and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Manger on Duty. In this role, you’ll provide leadership and support across a variety of shifts including opening, closing, and weekends to help ensure smooth day-to-day operations. You’ll be the go-to resource for staff, assist members throughout the Club, and uphold our standards for exceptional service and safety.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Open and close the Club and prepare all areas for member use, ensuring facilities are clean, safe, and welcoming.
- Greet members with professionalism and warmth, assisting with any needs, concerns, or questions.
- Provide leadership and support to staff, ensuring strong communication and teamwork.
- Monitor Club operations during shift, addressing issues promptly and effectively.
- Ensure compliance with Club policies, safety protocols, and emergency procedures.
- Serve as the point of contact for all departments when department heads are not on property.
- Assist with administrative tasks, scheduling adjustments, and shift coverage when needed.
- Maintain a strong presence throughout the facility to ensure member satisfaction and operational excellence.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Provide tours of the facility.
- Participate in regular staff meetings and contribute positively to team discussions.
- Help onboard and train new team members.
- Assist with supporting other directors when needed.
- Understand and consistently follow Club policies and procedures.

- Prior leadership or supervisory experience, preferably in hospitality, fitness, or customer service environments.

Requirements:
- 2 years of leadership experience and/or experience in a customer service, hospitality, fitness, or front desk/reception role.
- CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Proficiency with computers and software, including Microsoft programs.
- Experience with point-of-sale systems and/or membership or CRM software is a plus
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
