Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position in Tulsa, OK, as an Experienced Staff Accountant at The Accounting Nook, PLLC. This role involves working with a diverse client base on monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting tasks, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance. The ideal candidate must have strong QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online experience, excellent Excel skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual bookkeeping and accounting tasks for multiple clients.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare financial statements.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Process and categorize transactions in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online.
- Generate and review financial reports to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Communicate with clients to request missing information, clarify transactions, and provide financial insights.
- Prepare and submit sales tax, lodging, mixed beverage, and payroll reports.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accounting workflows.
Qualifications
- 5 – 7 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online (Certification is a plus).
- Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, and formulas).
- Strong understanding of financial statement preparation.
- Experience with bank reconciliations and general ledger management.
- Ability to manage multiple clients and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and client service skills.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive problem-solver.
Preferred Skills & Attributes
- Experience in a CPA firm or public accounting environment.
- Knowledge of sales tax and payroll reporting.
