The successful candidate will work directly with Partners at the firm to provide tax services to our clients. You will be directly working with clients, actively advising them and helping them plan for their financial future.
Responsibilities/Requirements:
- Provide tax advice and business advisory services for individuals, partnerships, corporations, non-profits and trusts
- Assume client service responsibility and work directly with Partners to service clients. Our ideal candidate would be able to begin managing clients transitioned to them from Partners by next tax season to begin building their book of business as well as take on new prospective clients
- Perform technical review of tax returns; provide review notes to tax preparers; occasionally prepare more complex returns
- Mentor staff to provide guidance on technical and accounting tax topics
- Strong willingness and eagerness to learn new technical subject areas
- Address government notices and occasional tax audits
- Participate in business development, marketing, and proposal development
- This position directly oversees two tax associates. We work in pods so this position would join a pod with two Partners, one other manager, and two to three staff
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, or at a minimum minor in Accounting
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in tax
- CPA license preferred, must have an EA at minimum
- Experience reviewing and directing work of tax preparers is required
Location
This is a hybrid position with a minimum of 2 days per week in-office. This opening is specifically for the Sherman Oaks office. Our current office is 5 mins away in Encino, but we will be moving to Sherman Oaks on 1/1/2027.
Compensation
- Salary ranges from $130,000 to $200,000 depending on experience
- Performance-based bonuses

- 9/80 schedule for half the year. We work normal workweeks during tax season (including extension season) and the rest of the year employees may choose to opt-in to a 9/80 schedule, which means you work 9-hour days on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays; every-other Friday you alternate between an 8-hour day, and a full day off. This provides for a 3-day weekend every-other week, while still getting 80-hours into a bi-weekly period.
