Abraham Joshua Heschel School is seeking a Middle School cross country head coach for the 2026-27 school year.
The coach will be responsible for planning practices, fostering a positive, inclusive, motivating environment, and creating an atmosphere that reflects the values and goals of the Heschel Athletics Department. Additionally, the coach will be responsible for organizing the team in such a way that maximizes the educational and athletic potential of all student-athletes and allows students to develop an appreciation of fitness and running.
Education And Certification Requirements
In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire.

Education And Certification Requirements
- Associates' or Bachelor’s degree
- Must possess a valid First-Aid-CPR-AED certification
- Must possess a valid concussion training certification
- Degree in physical education or related area; any level of coaching certification or experience playing the sport preferred
- Length of season: Approximately 2 months (September - end of October).
- One-and-a-half-hour practices; two sessions per week, Tuesdays (3:30 - 5:00) and Thursdays (4:00-5:30). Coaches should be available Monday-Thursday from approximately 2:30 PM to 6:30 pm to attend races.
- Pay rate: Stipend between $2,000 - $2,500 based on experience.
