This is a paid part-time internship providing up to 28 hours which can begin January 1, 2026, and extend through July 1, 2026. This is a part in office (New York City) and part remote position. This role is ideal for a Junior or Senior studying marketing and communication or public relations.

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical PR Intern to join our dynamic communications team, focusing on research and insights that drive strategic PR campaigns. This role is perfect for someone who combines strong critical thinking abilities with a passion for data-driven storytelling and media intelligence. 

Key Responsibilities

Research & Analysis

·      Conduct comprehensive media monitoring and competitive analysis across traditional and digital channels

·      Analyze media coverage metrics, sentiment analysis, and share of voice data

·      Research industry trends, journalist profiles, and media outlet preferences

·      Develop insights reports that inform campaign strategy and messaging

·      Track and evaluate campaign performance against KPIs

Data Management

·      Maintain and update media lists, coverage trackers, and campaign dashboards

·      Create weekly/monthly analytics reports using Excel, Google Sheets, and PR analytics tools

·      Build and manage databases of influencers, journalists, and key stakeholders

·      Develop data visualizations to communicate insights to team and clients

·      Support the team with real-time campaign metrics and performance tracking

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

·      Currently pursuing or recently completed degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Data Analytics, or related field

·      Previous internship or coursework in PR, marketing, or research preferred

Technical Skills

·      Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis functions)

·      Experience with Google Sheets and data visualization tools

·      Familiarity with media monitoring platforms (Talkwalker, Muckrack or similar) a plus

·      Basic understanding of social media analytics tools

·      Comfort working with large datasets and extracting meaningful insights
