Duties

• Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding customer service with a positive attitude.
• Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges.
• Handle cash, credit card transactions, and other payment methods with precision and integrity.
• Assist customers with product inquiries, offer upselling opportunities, and conduct product demos when appropriate.
• Prepare food in the deli for takeout meals
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area, shelves, and displays through merchandising and stocking.
• Manage inventory levels by monitoring stock and notifying management of low supplies or discrepancies.
• Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when responding to inquiries or taking orders over the phone.
• Support the store’s merchandising efforts by arranging products attractively and ensuring proper signage is in place.
• Engage in basic retail math to ensure accurate cash handling and register balancing at shift end.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations and provide assistance during busy periods.

Experience

• Prior cashiering experience in a grocery store or retail environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
• Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures is highly advantageous.
• Supervising experience in retail or customer service settings is a plus, demonstrating leadership skills.
• Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a valuable asset for serving diverse customers.
• Knowledge of grocery store operations, merchandising, and product demos enhances your effectiveness on the floor.
• Ability to perform basic math accurately for cash transactions and retail calculations.
