Store Cashier

Overview

• Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Accurately process sales transactions using the cash register, handling cash, credit, and debit card payments.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked checkout area.
• Assist customers with locating products and answering general questions about store offerings.
• Ensure that shelves and displays are properly stocked and organized.
• Handle returns, exchanges, and refunds in accordance with store policies.
• Monitor the store for any security concerns and report suspicious activity to management.
• Maintain the store’s cleanliness, including sweeping, mopping, and ensuring the bathrooms are tidy.
• Replenish inventory as needed and help with restocking shelves.
• Follow store policies and procedures, including opening and closing procedures.
• Assist with inventory counts and restocking when necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of cash and receipts, following cash handling procedures.

Duties

• Operate cash registers and handle transactions accurately using POS systems.
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers warmly and assisting them with their purchases.
• Process sales transactions efficiently while ensuring accuracy in cash handling and basic math calculations.
• Upsell products and promote special offers to enhance the customer shopping experience.
• Conduct product demos when necessary to inform customers about new items or promotions.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization at the checkout area, ensuring a pleasant shopping environment.
• Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly to ensure satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous cashier or retail experience is a plus but not required.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to handle cash accurately and make changes.
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and stocking products.
• Basic math skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible schedule, including the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
