Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Data Centre Support Technician to join our operations team in Weehawken, NJ.
Key Responsibilities:
- Audit and document cabling setups and desktop configurations.
- Plan and manage patching schedules using cable management software.
- Handle disconnection, relocation, and setup of desktop hardware and peripherals.
- Perform secure data wiping using software tools.
- Install, patch, and test voice and data cabling (copper and fiber).
- Diagnose and repair network cabling faults using modern testing tools.
- Maintain accurate stock records and update inventory usage.
- Conduct surveys and maintain technical documentation and schematics.
- Install and support telephone handsets (analogue, digital, VoIP).
- Rack, stack, and connect network/server equipment in data halls.
- Replace faulty network hardware components (e.g., power supplies, fans).
Requirements:
- Proven experience in voice/data cabling and MAC (Moves, Adds, Changes) environments.
- Strong understanding of modern network infrastructure (LAN/WAN).
- Hands-on experience with fiber and copper cabling installation and testing.
- Skilleted in racking and stacking server/network equipment.
- Familiar with ServiceNow or similar asset management platforms.
- Proficient in server patching and the use of handheld cable testers.
- Experienced with light source and power meter testing tools.
