About the Position

TG Solutions is hiring a Precision Surface Grinder for a manufacturing customer in Santa Fe Springs specializing in precision granite metrology products, including surface plates, master squares, parallels, straight edges, and custom granite components.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in precision grinding, machining, surface grinding, lapping, metrology, or toolmaking who takes pride in accuracy, quality, and working to tight tolerances.

What You’ll Do

• Operate precision surface grinding and lapping equipment
• Grind, finish, and inspect granite surface plates and precision components
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications
• Measure finished products using precision measuring equipment
• Perform machine setup, routine maintenance, and quality inspections
• Verify dimensions, flatness, and tolerances to meet customer specifications
• Complete production documentation and maintain product traceability
• Safely move and handle granite products using cranes, hoists, and other material-handling equipment
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe manufacturing environment

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum 2 years of manufacturing, machining, or precision production experience
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and engineering drawings
• Strong basic math skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work accurately with tight tolerances

Preferred:

• Experience with surface grinding or precision lapping
• Experience working with granite, ceramic, or other precision materials
• Knowledge of metrology equipment, calibration, and precision inspection
• Experience operating overhead cranes, hoists, or similar material-handling equipment
• Background in precision machining, toolmaking, machine shops, or metrology

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and quality-focused, with a strong understanding that precision and accuracy are more important than speed. Experience producing highly accurate parts or components in a manufacturing environment is highly valued.
