About the Role
TFI International is seeking a Payroll Team Lead to join our U.S. Payroll Shared Services team. This is a senior-level payroll position responsible for supporting complex multi-state payroll operations, serving as a subject matter expert for payroll coordinators, and helping drive payroll accuracy, compliance, and process improvements across the organization.
While this role does not have direct reports, it provides leadership support to the payroll team and serves as a key resource for payroll questions, escalations, and complex payroll matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly and bi-weekly multi-state payrolls across multiple entities and employee groups.
- Serve as a payroll subject matter expert and support payroll coordinators with complex payroll issues and escalations.
- Audit payroll transactions, employee data changes, reports, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Analyze payroll data and prepare reports to support business and operational needs.
- Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, inquiries, and processing issues.
- Support payroll process improvement initiatives, documentation, and training efforts.
- Provide coverage and leadership support across the payroll team as needed.
Qualifications
- 5 years of payroll experience, including complex multi-state payroll processing.
- Strong ADP payroll system experience; ADP Vantage preferred. ADP Workforce Now experience is considered transferable.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including reporting, pivot tables, and data analysis.
- CPP certification preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Experience using Microsoft Copilot or AI tools to improve productivity and efficiency is a plus.

Salary : $73,944 - $92,000
