Job Summary
The Tacoverse General Manager (GM) is responsible for the overall leadership and daily execution of all restaurant operations. This includes full accountability for team performance, food safety, guest satisfaction, brand standards, sales building, local store marketing, and financial results. The GM serves as the cultural and operational leader, ensuring The Tacoverse Standard is executed across every shift. This role requires strong leadership, hands-on management, and the ability to build and coach a high-performing team in a fast-paced environment.
The GM must drive results through hands-on leadership, financial oversight, staffing excellence, and compliance with all operational systems. Success in this role means consistently delivering exceptional food, outstanding hospitality, and operational efficiency—while creating a positive, engaging environment for team members and guests alike.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Financial & Operational Performance
• Prepare and interpret financial and operational reports, including P&Ls, sales trends, food cost, labor productivity, and waste tracking.
• Achieve controllable profit, cash flow, and productivity targets by monitoring all operating expenses, taking appropriate corrective action to improve performance.
• Ensure cost of goods sold (COGS) and labor cost remain within targeted thresholds through proactive planning, scheduling, and inventory controls.
• Execute inventory tracking, ordering, receiving, and weekly food cost reviews in alignment with budgeted targets.
• Lead shift deployment planning, safe counts, cash handling accuracy, and proper daily reconciliation procedures.
Operations & Food Safety
• Ensure all products meet Tacoverse quality and presentation standards, with a focus on recipe adherence, food safety, holding times, and cleanliness.
• Uphold all HACCP and local health department standards, including labeling, sanitation, glove use, and allergen controls.
• Enforce proper execution of prep, cooking, holding, and build procedures—particularly for proteins, salsas, sauces, sides, and signature items.
• Manage and maintain all facilities, equipment, and sanitation systems in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
• Implement and monitor opening/closing routines, daily deployment schedules, and MeazureUp audits to drive operational consistency.
Team Leadership & Development
• Hire, onboard, and train all team members and managers in accordance with The Tacoverse Standard and PeopleMatter hiring systems.
• Provide continuous coaching, performance evaluations, and leadership development using LMS tools and training plans.
• Conduct shift huddles, development conversations, and corrective action with professionalism, urgency, and consistency.
• Maintain proper staffing levels and proactively address any turnover, absenteeism, or training gaps.
• Create and maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive work environment that promotes growth and opportunity.
Hospitality & Guest Service

• Personally connect with guests, resolve complaints, and use feedback as an opportunity for team coaching and process improvement.
• Oversee all dine-in, to-go, and delivery transactions to ensure speed, accuracy, and satisfaction.
• Monitor third-party delivery platforms and ensure order integrity, driver interactions, and complaint resolutions follow company guidelines.
Local Store Marketing & Sales Growth
• Execute approved marketing programs, community events, and sales-building activities.
• Build relationships with local businesses, schools, and organizations to grow catering and repeat business.
• Represent the Tacoverse brand at all times with a high level of integrity, professionalism, and pride.
Compliance & Risk Management
• Ensure all team members follow federal, state, and local laws related to wage/hour, food safety, labor, and workplace safety.
• Enforce all company policies and standards related to harassment, discrimination, and workplace conduct.
• Implement and document disciplinary action as necessary in partnership with the District Manager and Human Resources.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, health inspections, Ecolab standards, and vendor safety practices.
Essential Functions
• Lift up to 50 lbs and place items on high or low shelving, including in freezers and walk-ins.
• Stand and walk for 8–10 hour shifts, including during peak hours, weekends, and holidays.
• Work in hot kitchens and cold storage environments.
• Operate POS systems, computer tools (Excel, back office), and mobile reporting platforms.
• Handle cash with accuracy and follow company cash policies including drops, deposit prep, and reconciliation.
• Must be able to observe team members, guests, and equipment to identify risks, safety issues, or performance gaps.

Minimum Requirements
• 3 years of General Manager or Multi-Unit leadership in QSR or fast-casual restaurant environments.
• Experience overseeing a team of 20 employees.
• ServSafe Manager Certification (or must obtain within 30 days).
• Strong understanding of restaurant financials, scheduling, food safety systems, and compliance requirements.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and availability to travel for openings, meetings, or emergencies.
• Must be available to work weekends, holidays, nights, and extended shifts based on business demands.
