Responsibilities
- Safely operate tow trucks, including flatbed and wheel-lift models, to recover and transport vehicles of all types.
- Perform automotive diagnostics and basic repairs to assess vehicle condition before towing.
- Load, unload, and secure vehicles using appropriate equipment such as winches, straps, and chains.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly with clients during roadside assistance or vehicle pickup.
- Manage conflict situations professionally, ensuring customer satisfaction while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of all towing activities, including logs of loads and unloads, incident reports, and vehicle details.
- Conduct routine inspections of tow truck equipment and perform minor mechanical repairs or report maintenance needs promptly.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in automotive repair or mechanic work is highly preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform diagnostics and basic repairs on various vehicle types.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with clean driving record; experience with manual transmissions is a plus.
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostics tools and equipment such as forklifts or other loading machinery is advantageous.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to manage conflicts effectively.
- Prior experience operating tow trucks or flatbed vehicles is desirable.
