Responsibilities

• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges.
• Handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and other payment methods with precision and integrity.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries.
• Conduct product demos when appropriate to highlight features and benefits to customers.
• Upsell additional items or services to enhance the customer's purchase experience.
• Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented.
• Support inventory management through stocking, inventory checks, and product replenishment as needed.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills by effectively engaging with customers and team members.
• Follow phone etiquette protocols when handling inquiries or assisting customers over the phone.
• Assist in training new team members or supervising staff during shifts if required.

Requirements

• Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment is preferred.
• Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures.
• Strong retail math skills for accurate transactions and balancing registers.
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable attitude.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations quickly and accurately.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customer needs effectively.
• Experience in supervising or leading team members is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Knowledge of grocery store operations, merchandising, stocking, and sales techniques is beneficial.
• Good phone etiquette and communication skills for engaging with customers professionally. Pay: From $9.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
