The Automation Specialist makes use of training, technical skills, data domain knowledge, and interpersonal effectiveness to partner with business process owners and identify areas of process optimization and automation. This position utilizes a range of approaches and technologies to implement recommended solutions and is responsible for analyzing project outcomes to determine return on investment. Assist with the development, implementation, testing, analysis, and maintenance of software applications and automation workflows in support of optimization and efficiency improvements. This position will partner with campus process owners to identify opportunities for optimization and automation.
This position is also responsible for supervising and/or leading the development of new automation projects, directing changes to existing systems, controlling the interfaces between the systems, initiating complex feasibility studies, and making recommendations of the action to be taken. The position is also expected to assist senior departmental management in determining the strategic direction for the area and/or unit and, as such, may interface with key campus leadership. Discretion and sound judgment is expected.
