What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr Ultrasound Tech position at Texas Tech Univ Health Sciences Ctr?
Produces two dimensional ultrasonic recordings of internal organs for use by Physician in diagnosis of disease and study of malfunction of organs by performing the following duties. Works under general supervision, functions independently within established guidelines and procedures. Work is performed under usual clinic and office conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Requires a high degree of contact with patients and physicians.
- Advanced Imaging: Conducting detailed first/second-trimester anatomy scans, fetal echocardiograms, and Doppler studies.
- High-Risk Focus: Evaluating complex cases, including multiple gestations (twins, triplets) and identifying fetal anomalies (CNS, cardiac, etc.).
- Procedure Assistance: Preparing and assisting with invasive procedures like amniocentesis, PUBS, and cervical checks.
- Preliminary Diagnosis: Forming initial diagnoses of fetal or gynecological disorders for MFM specialists to review.
- Patient Care: Communicating findings, maintaining records, and ensuring patient comfort during high-stakes exams.
