What are the responsibilities and job description for the Optical Manager position at Texas State Optical?
A private optometry practice in Brenham, Tx is looking for a Optical Manager or Lead Optician. Certification is a plus, not required. We are looking for a friendly, energetic, dependable, self-motivated individual with excellent communication and customer service skills for long-term employment. Full-time, Monday thru Friday only.
Experience that prepares you for this job includes:
- Optical management
- Optical experience
- Retail sales and/or management
- Retail supply chain management
- Medical facility front desk experience
- Mechanical aptitude (for adjusting frames and gathering frame measurements)
Tasks for the position include:
- Monitoring frame inventory
- Monitoring spectacle lens orders
- Monitoring accounts payable to frame and lens suppliers
- Helping patients select frames and adjusting frame for proper fit
- Helping patients select lens type and lens options
- Gathering and documenting measurements necessary for ordering glasses
- Good computer skills & customer service skills
