Position Overview:
The Director of Finance & Operations will serve as a key business partner to the President, overseeing all financial planning, operational processes, and performance metrics that drive profitability and efficiency. This individual will manage the rhythm of the business — from budgeting and forecasting to supply-chain oversight and cross-departmental alignment.
The ideal candidate brings strong financial acumen, operational discipline, and experience in consumer products or apparel. This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who thrives at the intersection of numbers, systems, and execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Leadership
- Own all financial planning and reporting, including P&L management, budgets, and forecasts.
- Develop dashboards, KPIs, and reporting tools to track company and departmental performance.
- Partner with the President to analyze growth opportunities, margins, and cash flow.
- Oversee accounting, AP/AR, and inventory reconciliation (QuickBooks Online ERP).
- Manage annual budgeting, audit prep, and tax coordination with outside accountants.
Operational Excellence
- Streamline processes across production, inventory management, and fulfillment.
- Oversee vendor relationships, landed cost tracking, and supply-chain performance.
- Ensure on-time delivery and cost efficiency across domestic and international manufacturing partners.
- Lead systems integration (ERP, Shopify Plus, reporting tools) for better data visibility.
- Support cross-functional OKRs and hold departments accountable for deliverables.
Strategic Execution
- Partner with leadership to forecast business scenarios and resource needs.
- Translate strategic goals into financial and operational plans with measurable outcomes.
- Identify and implement scalable process improvements that enable growth.
Qualifications:
- 7–10 years of progressive experience in finance or operations within apparel or consumer goods.
- Proven success managing budgets, cash flow, and inventory in a high-growth environment.
- Strong understanding of product costing, landed costs, and margin analysis.
- Experience with omni-channel business models (e-commerce, wholesale, retail).
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Shopify, and ERP systems (ApparelMagic, AIMS360, Brightpearl, etc.).
- Data-driven problem-solver with excellent communication and project-management skills.
