TRI Air Testing, Inc., located in Pflugerville, Texas, is looking for a Full-time Microbiologist I. The Microbiology Laboratory Associate supports the Lab Director and Microbiology Laboratory Supervisor in executing all functions of TRI Air Testing’s microbiology laboratory. This role is responsible for performing analytical procedures, maintaining laboratory standards, supporting method development, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality requirements.

This role is responsible for performing analytical procedures, maintaining laboratory standards, supporting method development, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality requirements.
Essential Job Functions
- Perform established daily microbiological analyses and laboratory procedures, including but not limited to:
- Aerobic and anaerobic plate counting
- DNA-based microbial identification (species profiling)
- Potable water testing and analysis
- pH measurement and related water quality assessments
- Autoclave sterilization of laboratory equipment
- Provide training, guidance, and oversight to technicians working within the microbiology lab
- Support the expansion of laboratory capabilities by:
- Researching and evaluating new analytical methods
- Assisting in the development and documentation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Participating in method validation and implementation
- Serve as a technical resource during internal and external audits conducted by regulatory bodies and customers
- Assist in all non-conforming or special customer projects
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- BS in Biology/Microbiology (or equivalent). Professional laboratory experience preferred but not required
- Experience in species identification of microbes using DNA profiling is preferred but not required
- Potable water analysis experience preferred but not required
- Ability to multi-task and manage several projects at a time
- Ability to work and stay on task with minimum supervision
- Ability to travel if needed
- Must have ability to lift 30 lbs. on a regular and consistent basis
- Attention to detail
- Good memory recall
