TPS Civil Group is seeking an experienced Civil Utility Superintendent to lead field operations on underground wet utility projects throughout the DFW area. We have a strong backlog of work and are looking for a proven leader who can safely manage crews, maintain production, and deliver quality projects on schedule.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone with extensive experience in water, sewer, storm drain, and underground utility construction.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily field operations on underground utility projects.
- Supervise foremen, operators, pipe crews, laborers, and subcontractors.
- Read and interpret civil plans, utility profiles, and specifications.
- Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
- Ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.
- Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce OSHA safety standards.
- Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, municipalities, and engineers.
- Monitor production, quality control, and project progress.
- Complete daily reports, production tracking, and job documentation.
- Resolve field issues while maintaining project timelines.
- Ensure all work meets company and municipal standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Superintendent, General Foreman, or equivalent leadership role in heavy civil/utility construction.
- Extensive experience installing:
- Water mains
- Sanitary sewer
- Storm drainage
- Underground utility infrastructure
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications.
- Experience coordinating multiple crews and subcontractors.
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and trench safety.
- Valid driver's license required.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred (not required).
