What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pipe Yard position at Texas Pipe Works?
Basic Function:
This position is responsible for the general handling of materials where applicable. The handling of material may be associated with various areas, including unloading in-bound Pipe, loading out-bound pipe, or moving and distributing material to various operation areas for fabrication.
Position Responsibilities and Specific Duties:
Yard Helper
- Move pipe and other material to proper location with a heavy forklift.
- Heavy equipment operator is responsible for operating a variety of equipment such as bulldozers, tractors, etc)
- Operate the loader to move materials around the pipe yard.
- Assists in maintaining an organized and logical yard.
- Read load slips, manifests, shipping order, or requisitions to determine items to be received, moved or distributed.
- Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet.
- Ability to efficiently and safely operate applicable equipment to unload, load and distribute material with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work efficiently in all forms of weather (wind, heat, cold, rain)
Job Requirements: To perform in this position successfully, an individual must be able to complete all areas outlined above for this position in a satisfactory manner. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities necessary to meet the minimum job requirements of this position. Experience loading and unloading range 3 OCTG pipe is a plus. Experience operating heavy machinery is also a plus.
Education – Required: High school Diploma and suitable – verifiable work experience indicating the employee can meet the convictions of this job description.
