What are the responsibilities and job description for the Party Host / Event Host — Birthdays & Group Events position at Texas Pickle Hall?
Texas Pickle Hall is a 12-court indoor pickleball facility in Live Oak with a full bar, scratch kitchen, and a packed calendar of leagues, open play, tournaments, corporate events, and private parties. Events are the heart of our business — birthdays, team-building outings, church groups, school groups, and celebrations of every kind.
Party Hosts own the guest experience from the moment a group arrives to the moment the last balloon comes down. When you do this job well, a parent walks out saying it was the easiest party they've ever thrown.
What You'll Do
- Set up party spaces before guests arrive — tables, decorations, place settings, equipment, and court prep
- Greet the host and guests, walk them through the plan, and set the tone
- Run the party on schedule: gameplay, food service, cake and gift time, and wrap-up
- Serve food and beverages to the group and keep the space clean throughout
- Read the room — adjust energy and pacing for kids, teens, adults, and corporate groups
- Handle the host's requests and problems so they never have to
- Break down, clean, and reset the space for the next group
- Coordinate with front desk and kitchen so timing and orders land right
What You Bring
Required
- 18 years or older
- Genuine comfort leading a group and speaking in front of people
- Dependable attendance — parties are booked and paid for, so showing up matters more here than anywhere
- Reliable transportation
- Weekend availability, especially Saturdays
- Patience and good judgment with children and large groups
Preferred
- Experience hosting parties, coaching, camp counseling, teaching, tutoring, or youth programs
- Prior food service or hospitality experience
- Familiarity with pickleball (we'll teach you what you need)
- Bilingual English/Spanish
Physical Requirements
- Stand, walk, and move actively for the majority of a shift, up to 8 hours
- Lift and carry up to 40 lbs (tables, chairs, supplies, equipment)
- Bend, reach, and kneel for setup, cleaning, and teardown
- Work in an active indoor facility with elevated noise levels
Pay: $13.50 per hour
