Provides daily oversight, hands-on construction and logistical support for trail work performed by park staff and alternative workforces including volunteers and Texas Department of Criminal Justice work crews among others. Directs and trains crews or other alternative work force, ensuring safety and natural/cultural resource protection guidelines are followed. Responsible for daily and long-term project plans, including progress reports and estimates of material and equipment needs. Maintains equipment and tools, and submits required reports. Coordinates work with work crews, park and regional staff. Assists in natural and cultural resource monitoring and erosion control projects. Assists as needed with park operations tasks including maintenance of facility, equipment and grounds, customer service and community outreach. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Performs additional duties as assigned. Complies with all Agency, Division and branch rules, regulations and procedures.

Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education:Graduation from High School or GED.Experience:Four years facility, equipment or grounds maintenance experience.NOTE: Experience may have occurred concurrently.Licensure:Must possess a valid State driverand#8217;s license.NOTE: Retention of position contingent upon obtaining and maintaining required licenses.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Experience:Three years experience in trail construction and maintenance including drainage/erosion and trail infrastructure.Two years experience as a supervisor or team leader, which may include oversight of paid staff, volunteers, or alternative workforces.Experience working in an historic site or sensitive natural resource area.Experience working with the public.Experience in natural and/or cultural resource management.
