RN Manager – Emergency Room | Full-Time | No Weekends
Location: Salem, VA
Shifts Available:
- 2 Positions: Main Emergency Department (Days & Off-Shift)
- 1 Position: Free-Standing Emergency Department
Compensation: $42.55 – $58.03 per hour (Based on Experience)
Relocation Assistance: $1,500
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced RN Emergency Room Manager to lead emergency care teams at a 500 bed acute care hospital. This role is responsible for managing staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and optimizing patient care quality in a fast-paced Emergency Department (ED) setting.
Key Responsibilities
✔ Department Leadership & Management
- Assume responsibility for unit management in the absence of the Director.
- Plan resources efficiently to manage workload and emergency cases.
- Develop and review unit policies and procedures to enhance patient care.
✔ Staff Development & Coordination
- Assist with hiring, training, and evaluating ED staff.
- Ensure staff compliance with licensure, certifications, and training requirements.
- Facilitate orientation for new employees, students, and volunteers.
✔ Patient Care & Quality Improvement
- Maintain open communication with other departments for coordinated care.
- Ensure high-quality patient outcomes through best practices and compliance.
Requirements
🔹 Education:
- Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing (Required)
- BSN Preferred or active enrollment in a BSN program
🔹 Licensure & Certifications:
- Active RN License in Virginia (or compact multi-state RN license)
- BLS (Required) | ACLS (Within 1 year) | PALS (Within 1 year)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) Required
🔹 Experience:
- ER Management Experience Required
- Charge Nurse experience (1 year = 1 year credit)
- Staff RN experience (3 years = 1 year credit)
- Emergency Department Manager experience (1 year = 1 year credit)
