The warehouse inventory includes clothing and other supplies for day-to-day living for youth assigned to the facility, perishable food supplies, security equipment, and office supplies. Work involves stocking, arranging, and transferring inventory; maintaining accurate inventory controls and adequate stock levels; monitoring compliance with established security requirements and loss prevention controls. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. May be required to work in excess of 40 hours per workweek. Essential Job DutiesMaintains, stocks, and issues materials, equipment, supplies, and other inventory. (10%)Verifies the receipt of incoming supplies/equipment; ensures proper loading and unloading of stock and merchandise; and inspects incoming supplies/equipment to ensure items meet quantity, quality, and specifications standards. (10%)Maintains accounting records of purchases (10%)Stocks shelves and store merchandise as required. (10%) Organizes the storage of all stock received to maintain compliance with agency standards, safety codes, and FDA codes. (10%)Conducts inventories of warehouse stock. (10%)Compiles and maintains an inventory database (5%)Loads and unloads stock and merchandise (5%)Fills order by packaging, mailing or delivering items (10%)Operates a forklift. (10%)Performs a variety of related duties not listed, to be determined and assigned as needed.Performs all duties in compliance with agency safety policies and procedures:Reports safety hazards and corrects hazards when possible.Completes required documentation in the event of an accident/injury within requested time frames.Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency attendance and leave policies.Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent. Three years (3) of experience that may be any combination of the following: inventory management, warehouse operations, purchasing, or property accounting. A minimum of one (1) year of the required experience must involve the preparation of related reports.Experience and Education Substitutions:Completed course hours of undergraduate study may substitute for up to two years of experience on a basis of 30 course hours for one year of experience.Pro-rated part-time experience may satisfy the experience requirement.Note: Any degree, diploma, high school equivalent, or course hours required to meet minimum qualifications must be from an accredited educational institution.Requirements for Continued Employment:Failure to maintain required licenses/certifications will result in termination of employment.Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesKnowledge of:Warehousing methods and procedures.Inventory and stock control record keeping.Skill in:Operating computers and using applicable computer software.Preparing and using informational reports as a warehouse and inventory management tool.Ability to:Transfer stock from one ocation to another.Review warehouse operations for compliance with established standards.Follow prescribed inventory control standards.Interpret and explain related procedures and standards.Work collaboratively with all stakeholders and maintain a professional, courteous demeanor.Prioritize and manage multiple tasks; plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments; and meet deadlines.Process information logically, make decisions, and demonstrate the soundness of those decisions.Train and oversee the work of others.Work in excess of 40 hours per workweek.Physical RequirementsThe following physical demands and working conditions are representative of those encountered and/or necessary for the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
