**JOB SUMMARY**
Performs highly advanced (senior-level) administrative support work. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement. Administrative support includes disseminating information, preparing correspondence, scheduling meetings and maintaining electronic and paper filing and tracking systems. Manages expenses, supplies, work order and IT requests and other administrative activities for the Department from initiation to completion. Attends meetings and records minutes, action items and attendance.
Essential Duties
Prepares and disseminates information concerning agency programs, services, and procedures.
Prepares, edits, and distributes correspondence, reports, studies, forms, and documents.
Creates, maintains, and enters information into databases, spreadsheets, and systems efficiently, accurately and completely.
Compiles data for charts, graphs, databases, summaries, or reports.
Maintains scheduling and event calendars.
Performs related work as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High school graduate or possess a GED.
Ten years of experience in clerical or administrative support work in a professional office setting, on-site, is required.
Five years of experience using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Outlook is required.
Three consecutive years of experience with the State of Texas CAPPS system is required.
Must possess the ability to attest to and maintain the security or integrity of the states critical infrastructure requirement to be considered for hire and to maintain employment.
Preferred Qualifications
Five years of experience working in a State of Texas agency or university is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS And ABILITIES
Knowledge of office practices and administrative procedures.
Knowledge of managing multiple timelines and deliverables, tracking progress and providing a work product that is grammatically correct, follows business and professional writing style and mathematically accurate.
Skill in the use of standard office equipment and software.
Skill in prioritizing work and managing competing timelines and multiple deliverables.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to implement administrative systems and procedures and to interpret rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
